The Park Hyatt

>
>

This is hands down the prettiest location in all of Dubai. Don't be nervous as you approach from the airport, which is only five minutes away. The driveway might be just off a main road, but the hotel itself is set in acres of mature gardens, right next to a stretch of Dubai Creek and just opposite a park. It resembles nothing so much as a Greek island resort, with low-rise white, domed buildings, blue roofs and tiled floors.

Huge windows overlook date palms, and a glass-walled corridor leads you from the airy reception through leafy courtyards and into the chic Arabic-themed tea room.
Down a sweeping staircase is the fine-dining French restaurant set over two levels with its walls of wine, parquet floors and open-show kitchens.

On Fridays, it does one of the best all-you-can-eat brunches in the city, with free-flowing Dom Perignon all day. The Thai Kitchen, right next to Dubai Creek, is also famous for its weekend a la carte brunch. Cafe Arabesque is an all-day dining Arabic restaurant where breakfast is served, and which later in the day produces piping-hot breads and grills; and there is the squishy-sofa-packed outdoor Terrace bar.

The rooms, all of which feature water views and balconies, have a decidedly feminine edge, decorated in cream and white, and each room has a free-standing marble bath and walk-in shower. The bath products are all scented with a perfume specially created for the hotel. Should you take a particular shine to the artwork - the pictures are all black-and-white shots of Dubai's maritime history - they are available to buy. Standard rooms all sleep two adults and one child, and larger suites have screens that separate living and sleeping areas so business meetings can be held in-room.

A large conference centre on-site is a favourite with local fashion shows and charity events for ladies who lunch. As well as the proximity to affiliated Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club, where the hotel can arrange tee times, yachts are available to hire from the marina. The jewel in the crown of the resort, though, is the multiple-award-winning Amara Spa.

Each spa suite, including two designed specially for couples, has its own leafy outdoor courtyard with rain shower for post-treatment tea and dates. Spend a minimum of AED 450 on a treatment, and you will also get full-day access to the palm-shaded pool, with its four whirlpool tubs and soft white padded loungers. Golf widows will also be pleased to hear that the hotel is minutes away from Bur Dubai's souks and the Wafi Mall and Festival Centre.

What Gives a Luxury Lodge a 4 Star Accommodation?

>
>

A luxury lodge may mean different things to different people, and often the star classifications can be quite misleading. Although there is a specific system that hotels and accommodations use sometimes the rules are bent. There are many different things that are taken into consideration when the classification is awarded.

Within luxury accommodation it is not only what you see as customers, but also what happens behind the scenes. If you are looking for a particular standard when researching your accommodation, you may want to look at 4 star classifications. You will know that choosing this level of accommodation will guarantee you a certain level.

There will be many things that will be standard, and that have to be included in the accommodation. If they are not included it is not a true 4 star, and they can be fined for misrepresentation. You want to book into a luxury lodge that you know will be of the best 4 star standard. Some of the specifications are typical of what you would expect.

These are things like the accommodation being open all year round, and 7 days a week.

The luxury accommodation should also have a fully staffed reception area, and offer a dining facility of some description. There must be a member of the hotel management available at all times for problems, and enquiries. The rooms within the luxury lodge should be cleaned and serviced daily.

Room service should also be available in the luxury lodge, and car parking, and valet services must be provided. Luggage handling, laundry services, and maids must be available for the guests to use. Every element of the service within the luxury accommodation will be reviewed, and assessed. Room size, amenities, and extra offered facilities, and services will also be considered.

These are all assessed on a regular basis, and it is up to the hotel to ensure that they remain to a high standard. There is nothing worse than luxury accommodation losing a star, and it is very difficult to get it back. When looking for the best 4 star accommodation in the area that you want the internet is a great place for reviews.

You can see how other guests have rated the facilities, and decide if you feel that the luxury lodge is of the highest standard. If you are paying for a 4 star luxury lodge you want to ensure that the facilities and amenities are perfect for your stay. This classification of luxury accommodation is not cheap, and knowing that you are getting what you are paying for is essential.

You want to feel that all of the requirements, and classifications are met, and that you feel that the amenities are good. You will also feel more inclined to book the luxury lodge if you feel they have gone that one step further.

Added touches and facilities will always make you feel welcomed, and special throughout your stay.

Even the smallest of gesture when you are not expecting it can make all of the difference. You will be surprised at how much a 4 star luxury lodge will go through to get, and keep their stars. It is in their best interest to ensure that you are happy with every element of the stay.

Two Temples, Two Reasons to Further Religious Tourism in Bali

>
>

Religious tourism is one of the major reasons why Bali is continuously receiving a growing number of international arrivals - making Bali hotels definitely busy with thronging backpackers who came to visit the religious sites in the island. There are so many temples in Bali which are hailed not only because of its religious value, but also due to its splendid architectural designs.

One of the most interesting temple in Bali is the Mother Temple of Besakih. Located in the village of Besakih on the slopes of Mount Agung, it is hailed as the most important temple in Indonesia. It is a sacred place for worshipers but is a major spectacle for mere tourists.

Stories say that the Mother Temple of Besakih was built during the 14th century. It is the holiest among the temples of Agama Hindu Dharma in the island. It is also hailed as miraculous because during the Mount Agung eruption in 1963, the temple was inexplicably spared by the flowing lava - leaving it safe and standing strong.

The Mother Temple of Besakih consists of a vast complex made up of 22 temples settled on an area fronting a breathtaking mountain view. During early mornings, it produces a spectacular view as its spires seemingly illuminate - reflecting the rays of the rising sun. The temple also has numerous courtyards and brick gateways which lead to the main structure in the complex, the Pura Penataran Agung.

It is indeed a magnificent temple and is undeniably an interesting destination for religious tourists and mere sightseers. But if there is another temple in Bali which could compete with the beauty of the Mother Temple of Besakih and drive tourists off the comfort of their Bali luxury hotels, it would be the Tanah Lot.

The Purah Tanah Lot is a sea temple and is also one of the most significant religious structures in Indonesia. Sitting gloriously in a large rocky island formed by the waves and winds off the shores of the beautiful Denpasar Beach, it is also known as the 'Temple of Land in the Middle of the Sea.'

Legends say that the Purah Tanah Lot was founded by Nirartha, a 16th century priest who is one of the last priests to come to Bali from Java. Now, it is believed that it is being guarded by the poisonous sea snakes residing in the caves beneath the whole structure.

Only the terraces of the temple are accessible and from it, and a very breathtaking view of the sunset can be obtained. It soothes the souls and calms the tired minds. The view of the vast ocean actually compensates to the fact that tourists cannot enter the main temple. And even though some parts of the rock in which the Purah Tanah Lot stands are already artificial, this beautiful attraction still exudes the same charm that it did years ago.

The Mother Temple of Besakih and the Purah Tanah Lot are only two of the beautiful attractions in Bali. So foreigners need not to think twice.

There are lots of luxurious and cheap Bali hotels to go to. For a list of the most ideal hotels, visit HotelsinAsia.com.sg now.

There Are Any Differences Between a Cheap Motel and an Expensive Hotel

Everybody is looking for cheap motels everywhere. They are welcomed when you are on the road and extremely tired, in need for a place to catch a few hours of sleep. Cheap motels can be found usually along the roads or at rest stops. They are not always the best places, but when it comes to falling asleep at the wheel one can crash anyplace.

The cheap rooms will not always catch your eye, because they usually have not so new furniture, all the things will seem like they are used, and the bathroom will not be in a good shape either. Nothing cheap is of good quality, so do not be surprised when you'll see the conditions. Cheap motels are usually run by owners working at the reception desk and you will most likely not get a pleasant welcome all of the times you want to rent a cheap room.

In a business like this there is not much profit so even the staff will probably not be in a good mood and smiling like they do in the expensive hotels. The difference is that an expensive hotel is probably owned by someone rich and powerful, and that particular hotel is not the only business he has. It probably is a part of a chain of hotels.

If we compare the expensive hotels and the cheap motels only one thing comes into mind and that is money. Expensive hotels cannot be found anywhere along the road, they are strategically placed in places with a lot of tourists or in the center of big cities, capitals. These places are usually frequented by rich people who travel or they simply need a place to live for a while. We cannot compare the conditions either.

Unlike the cheap rooms from motels, expensive hotels have impressive furniture and all objects will be new or almost new, if it is a luxurious hotel, than everything will probably be new. The staff will be extremely polite and smiling all of the time, but they also require fat tips, so that means money again. Your luggage is carried and your laundry is taken care of by the cleaning staff on a daily basis. There is no doubt you will be eating the most glamorous meals and will be drinking expensive champagne. These places usually have glamorous living rooms where you can spend time during the day, and where you can socialize with other guests.

The bottom line is both cheap motels and expensive hotels have their purpose and you really cannot compare them. It all depends on ones social status. If you have money than cheap rooms are not for you, if you do not have money than expensive hotels are not an option for you.

You cannot really compare cheap rooms in motels and expensive hotels. Expensive hotels are for the wealthy people, the cheap motels are suitable for the middle class.

The Historic Lakeside Inn in Mount Dora, Florida

>
>

I love to travel and visit various Florida historic homes and hotels, which acquaints me with a variety of architectural styles. I write about the places I visit so I can share with my readers the ambiance of each locale. When you see a beautiful historic interior design, you have a greater appreciation of its beauty. By studying the architecture of these landmarks, I can apply my experiences to expand my knowledge of interior design concepts.

I chose the historic Lakeside Inn in Mt. Dora, Florida for the perfect weekend retreat with its Victorian architecture and beautiful sunsets. I have always enjoyed meandering through downtown Mt. Dora and exploring all the quaint shops. When I checked The Lakeside Inn website, I found a great summer package, so I made a reservation.

The Lakeside Inn first opened as a 2-story, 10-room Victorian Frame Vernacular style hotel, called the Alexander House, in 1883. Hotel guests arrived by boat and stayed a month or more while enjoying bird watching, fishing and relaxing in the evening on the large, wrap-around veranda. The hotel name was changed twice and was finally named The Lakeside Inn in 1903.

In the 1920's, an Olympic sized swimming pool was added along with two new guesthouses, The Gables and The Terrace, built in a Jacobethan style with stucco walls and steeply gabled roofs. In 1930, President Calvin Coolidge dedicated the new buildings. Today the hotel consists of 5 buildings by the lakeside.

Our weekend started with a leisurely ride through the back roads of Central Florida to the quaint town of Mt. Dora. When we arrived at The Lakeside Inn, our first view was of a stately southern mansion surrounded by majestic oak trees festooned with Spanish moss.

We were impressed by the helpfulness and friendliness of the staff. Front desk clerk Justin had a cheerful greeting for us before checking us in. When we ate brunch in the dining room, our waitress Suzy was pleasant and efficient. Later in the lounge, bartender Jonathan treated us like old friends. Even the housekeeping staff in our guesthouse greeted us warmly.

We enjoyed the ambiance of the historic Lakeside Inn both in our 1920's style room, in the grand Old Florida style lobby with coffered ceilings, on the spacious front porch and in the warm and cheerful Tremain's Lounge. The lounge is a gathering place for both hotel guests and locals. When you visit the lounge, have Jonathan mix you a Lemon Drop and look for longtime resident, Walker. He has lived there since the 1930's and will regale you with stories from the town's past.

I had the privilege of speaking with owner Jim Gunderson and hearing his vision for the hotel. Under his leadership the hotel is undergoing renovations while maintaining its historical integrity. Jim says, "Our whole idea is to give people a relaxing experience." And that he does, from relaxing poolside to enjoying the rocking chairs on the full-length porch. Or you can enjoy Friday and Saturday night jazz in the lounge, ghost stories on Saturday evenings or an occasional free music concert on the lawn.

On July 4, our last day, we stayed by the pool all afternoon. We enjoyed a barbeque served by the hotel and had the most incredible pulled pork sandwiches (best I ever tasted). In the evening we lounged by the pool to watch the fireworks. On Lake Dora there was a myriad of boats floating like a flock of oversized ducks while other people were seated on the dock and families lay on the grass. And the fireworks were worth waiting for. For 30 minutes, we were treated to spectacular bursts of color that filled the sky as the crowd oohed and aahed. We saw falling stars and sun bursts in red, gold, green and white. Beautiful! What a way to end our weekend!

The Lakeside Inn not only gave me a respite from the big city hustle-bustle but also taught me further insights into Victorian and English Renaissance styles. In addition, I could imagine beautifully dressed women from the 19th century or parties in the hotel lobby from the heydays of the roaring 20's. It was a grand experience from a grand hotel and I cannot wait to return. To see this beautiful hotel, visit Mt. Dora and enjoy it for yourself. You will be pleasantly surprised.
